Key Activities
Isabella Bauer is an expert in violence prevention, civil conflict transformation and mediation.
Her work focuses on conflict constellations at communal/local level. Since 2012, Ms Bauer has been working as a freelance consultant, evaluator and journalist for a variety of organisations from the social and development context at home and abroad. She is also an associate researcher at the Bonn International Center for Conversion. There she researches and publishes on violence prevention and conflict transformation in a communal context. At the TH Köln, Ms Bauer is a lecturer in the Department of Applied Social Sciences. Violence protection concepts against sexualised violence are the focus of her work with elderly care facilities and hospitals. Currently, Ms Bauer is researching and publishing on the peace action of refugee women youths. This focus follows on from her research and practical work in Uganda on the implementation of a peace agreement at regional level. She has lived and worked for several years in different regions including South Africa, Uganda, Kenya, Israel and Nepal.
